I like to look at my new job as worship pastor or lead worshipper (‘m not sure what to call it yet), in this situation as building a house. I want to start off right (laying the foundation) by keeping the genuine worship of Jesus the center. Worship of Him…This does not refer to showing up at a building and listening to music. It means we “Come” to God through Jesus Christ – desperately desiring a glimpse of Him, an encounter with Him. And we “Worship” – we respond to Who God is and all that He has done. I like this description of worship ~ “responding to God.” I want to foster an environment where people know that they can respond to God, whether it’s standing, sitting, raising your hands, on your face…whatever that looks like. Let’s just worship Him. I want excellence in the way we conduct worship from the singers to instrumentalist, audio/video and lighting. I pray God will stir in the people who need to rise up and use their gifts in these areas so this “house” can be built. God is glorified in our excellence. Let us do things in that way so people will speak of Him. Lord Jesus will you give me wisdom and understanding as I embark on this journey and invite people to join in your Kingdom work! AMEN!
